A stunning and very unusual pocket travel alarm clock made in Switzerland by Jaeger LeCoultre. The clock is a classic LeCoultre design such as those made in the early part of the 20th Century, such as the Ados. The stand folds back on itself to cover and protect the dial. This model is finished in gold plate and faux, hand painted, lapis lazuli, and is exceptionally done. It was a finish that Jaeger used on other clock models at the time.
The clock is powered by the LeCoultre caliber 911 which is exactly the same as those used in the Memovox alarm wristwatch. It comprises of a manually wound movement that has two crowns; A top crown which winds and sets an alarm. A bottom crown which winds and sets the time. The movement was introduced by LeCoultre in 1964, and was in production until 1979.
This piece is movement fully signed Jaeger LeCoultre and dates circa 1970. The clock also comes with the original leather travel case to protect the finish. Everything on the piece is original and unrestored.
