An eight day, gold plated, mechanical world time clock. This is a very rare and well designed peice. In the middle is a world map pictorial that is controlled by a nob on the rear of the clock. By using this nob one can set the current time in the desired time zone against the difference in another, thus making all the cities around the dial also correct. It is in 24 hour time, so that one can easily distinguish between day and night in the second time zone. The clock also features an alarm that is wound independently from the clock it self, and can be set by using the separate dial engraved on the rear of the clock.
The dial is pinned through the center of the frame, which enables it to move independently from the base, so that it can be placed on a lower or higher shelf and then angled down.
Signed Cartier Made in Switzerland. Cartier Reference numbers stamped on base. Circa 1970.
